This article describes an incredibly egregious example of abuse by the Nevada State Worker’s Compensation System against a disabled man. The case is on-going, and the intent of the article is to develop possible connections to help resolve this serious matter. Flu Pandemics occur when a new influenza virus emerges in the human population and spreads rapidly. With no immunity this results in a world wide epidemic with great numbers of illness and death. In a World where everything around us seems to be mechanized and de-humanized, supporting true artisans and craftspeople is becoming increasingly important. As many traditional skills and crafts are being lost, it is paramount we acknowledge and support such artisans, without exploitation. Global ethical trading is necessarily essential - People matter. As I write this, there is an intense debate in the United States over whether to include a “public option” in health care reform. While not arguing for or against the merits of a “public option,” the debate provides an excellent illustration of why the process of conflict resolution is easy (surprised by this example given the current debate?).
